The Long Island Sound Future’s Fund awarded Peconic Green Growth one of 15 grants for estuary improvements in New York. This public-private grant program pools funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and Wells Fargo. The Plan for Decentralized Wastewater Treatment, North Fork, NY will work with communities to explore clustered solutions to improvements.
We have also recieved a grant from the Long Island Community Foundation to work with the Village of Orient on community wastewater systems and opportunities. With active involvment of the community, the project will explore acceptable solutions to improving the quality of water in both our aquifers and bays.
